Fox Opening Registration for X-Men: First Class?

from SHH

An interesting listing at Production Weekly caught our eye - "X-Men: First Class." Could 20th Century Fox be developing a movie based on the series written by Jeff Parker and pencilled by Roger Cruz? Or are they using the title of that comic for their proposed Young X-Men spin-off?

What makes it even more interesting is that X-MenFirstClass.com redirects to FoxMovies.com.

The "X-Men: First Class" was an eight-issue mini-series published from September of 2006 through April of 2007. As Special was also released in May of 2007 followed by a monthly series that started in 2007 with the same creative team. The comic is described as follows:

For millions of years, mankind's place on Earth was unchallenged – until five young people paved the way for a new kind of human. While students at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast and Iceman taught the world what it meant to be X-Men. These are the hidden stories of the team that laid the foundation of a mutant dynasty!

We'll have to wait and see if official news on this hits.

T-Wayne - "Got Money"

RZA Interview

Ten years ago, when you first introduced the world to Bobby Digital, things were very different. Now that the world has actually turned digital, where does Bobby fit in?

He fits in perfect. He’s been trying to tell us about all this, and now here it is. It’s a perfect opportunity to relaunch the character through my music but also through comic books, video games, and we’re planning a feature film in the future. Digi Snax is the reopening of the character. Before, he was ahead of his time. Now he’s right on time.

I always thought the story of Bobby Digital would make a wicked comic book. Are you seriously considering it?

That’s what we’re doing now. We got a comic book coming. When you get the new album, you get a little taste of the artwork and the villains that I’ve created around the character. The Birds of Prey are after him, the main villain being the Raven. You also got the Hawk, the Vulture, the Eagle and the Crane. We have them incorporated inside the artwork of the album, as well. They’re also mentioned in the music, but you gotta listen closely.

Plies = FAKE

Goon affiliated, Ex drug dealer? Resume solid, street cred bigger? Oh really Plies?

Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic Records recording artist, and promoter of his own criminal exploits, Plies. HipHopDX has obtained documentation from the state of Florida that lists the “definition of real” rapper’s first real run-in with the law to have not taken place until two years ago, on April 12, 2006, when Plies - real name Algernod Lanier Washington, born May 22, 1976 - would have been on the eve of his 30th birthday and just beginning his ascension to his current status of gold-certified rap star.

The email printout of the documentation, which appears at the end of this report, was obtained from the Florida Department Of Law Enforcement (FDLE) by paying the $24 fee and searching here [https://www2.fdle.state.fl.us/cchinet/] in the FDLE’s criminal history database for Algernod Washington.

The FDLE’s criminal record for Plies shows that the self-described “goon” has been arrested just twice within his home state of Florida during his adult life, with both arrests taking place two years ago.

The 32-year-old was arrested for the first time at the age of 29 on April 12, 2006 for the misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence.

"Notorious" Cast Pics

20th Century Fox has released two more official photos from the cast of Notorious. There already have been a handful of unofficial photos circulating the net but this one here is a studio photo of Jamal Woolard as B.I.G. and the very first official photo of Antonique Smith who plays a spot on impression of a young Faith Evans. Haters...continue to hate but this movie looks like it's going to all come into place soon. Notorious has finished filming, is currently in editing and still slated for a Jan. 16, 2009 release date.

My New Favorite Song...

This is the new video for Radiohead- House of Cards from their new album, "In Rainbows." This shit is quite ill, and employs the use of an advanced laser technology.

No cameras or lights were used. Instead two technologies were used to capture 3D images: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR. Geometric Informatics scanning systems produce structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while a Velodyne Lidar system that uses multiple lasers is used to capture large environments such as landscapes. In this video, 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes.

The making-of video shows how the video was made and the various technologies that were used to capture and render 3D data.

Lupe Announces CRS Video Shoot During Liverpool Show

So CRS, the super-group consisting of Lupe, Kanye, and Pharrell, is shooting a video for a song that we've possibly never heard.

"How do you know it's not for 'Us Placers?'", you may say.

Because the sample for that song is "The Eraser", a cut by Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke, basically unchanged and originally on his album of the same name. Since this wasn't a song used for sale or distribution, it hasn't been cleared, and most are saying it won't be.

Either way, whether it's a video for the "Everyone Nose" remix or some altogether new shit, it's gonna be hot.

Haunted iPhone For Sale On eBay

The image “http://www.geekologie.com/2008/07/14/tainted-iphone.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Even though I doubt anyone is going to go higher than the $8,180,000.50 starting bid, this shit is honestly crazier than one would expect it to be. Straight from the auction:

When I opened the package.

The phone was on.

There were no cute buttons, no touch screen. (NEVER touch the screen, I'll tell you why later on.)

Instead, there was a blurry image of Steve Jobs burned into it. At first I didn't recognize it at all, my brother told me he was sure it was Steve Jobs. We looked through some pictures online and we are pretty sure the image is that of Steve Jobs.

I tried to rub it off thinking it was a joke, but the screen was SUPER HOT. I pretty much burned my fingers and as I type this, the middle and ring fingers on my right hand barely feel the keys on this keyboard. Never ever touch the screen of this ipod. The sides are cool room temperature, but the screen is intensely hot.

The image doesn't move, it's burned on so its not on the LCD. The LCD doesn't even turn on. However the sound does work, and occasionally (ussually when someone is looking at it or talking about it, but it might be a coincidence)
The iPhone chuckles, loudly!

Steve Jobs just laughs at me. Over and over and over. I've had it for a day and it hasn't run out of batteries. The sound still works. It laughs while I sleep. It laughs at me in the car. At work. Everywhere.

I was going to return it, but maybe someone is interested in this haunted piece of technology.

Daaaamn, son. People said the new iPhones had glitches, but not like this. Steve Jobs doesn't play.

Link to the auction.

Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse

About a year ago, a goofy trailer for what appeared to be a comedy short film appeared on YouTube. The movie it advertised was called Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse, and it starred Undeclared buds Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen as two schlubby guys dealing with a world ravaged by some sort of civilization-ending catastrophe. (You can still see the trailer here, though now I suspect it may disappear soon.) As best I can determine, the actual short film was never made available for public consumption, and maybe this is why: Mandate Pictures has bought the rights to make the short into a feature film with Rogen and Baruchel, to be shot next year.

The short was written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg who, of course, collaborated to bring us last year's Superbad. They'll be writing and producing the feature too, though no director is yet attached. (Judd Apatow's name is nowhere mentioned, and after seeing You Don't Mess with the Zohan, I kind of think it's just as well.) I wonder if this is something else the two cooked up as teenagers and are now seizing the opportunity to realize. It worked out pretty well last time.

The trailer is moderately funny, though you should probably use headphones if you're at work, or around kids, or something. The jokes aren't brilliant, but Rogen's delivery brings them pretty close.

Preview: The Clipse Presents: The Re-Up Gang

The Re-Up Gang's latest effort, The Clipse Presents: The Re-Up Gang is said to be dropping on Koch this winter. Be on the lookout for some (rumored) recycled lyrics from WGI4C3 on a string of crazy beats.

So far, they've dropped their new single Fast Life and just completed a video.

The album cover's been getting alot of heat, but I feel they're paying homage to the swag of yesteryear:

Three Six Mafia Is Not Down With Kia Shine

The dude who made "So Icy" thought everything was sweet after previous smack-talk aimed at the duo. Boy, was he wrong.

Also, DJ Paul explains why his right arm is...shall we say...cramped.

Flavor Flav Was Smashin' At Six...

I know, right? Kind of explains the stunted mental maturity.

Flav spilled his guts to Joe La Puma over at Complex, and came up with some wild shit.

Complex: Where did you lose your virginity?

Flavor Flav: Where did I lose my virginity? I lost my virginity in the bushes on a box.

Complex: Really?

Flavor Flav: Yea, in the bushes on a box. A girl and me were having sex on a box in the bushes, in some big tall bushes.

Complex: How uh…when was this?

Flavor Flav: This was when I was real, real, real, real, young.

Complex: Like elementary school? Or middle school?

Flavor Flav: Nah, I’m a tell you the truth; I lost my virginity when I was 6 years old.

Complex: Really?

Flavor Flav: Yea, man. Because you know we learned to have done the nasty back in the days, and me and this girl we experiment, we were experimenting, and my little joint got hard, I penetrated for about a few seconds.

Complex: I respect that. Early start my man.

Flavor Flav: That’s right early start and guess what and I have a great finish right now. [Laughs] Yessir!

Flav said this and more incoherent shit, from eating a booger to his love of pork in a new interview with Complex Mag:

Its A Lifestyle's Top 25 Rap Albums Of All Time

#05 - #01

#05 - Tupac Shakur - Me Against the World

DOWNLOAD IT

If you have a beating heart in your chest, you can't not feel the raw emotional energy that Tupac delivers through his words and his voice on this album.

Quotable: "Lord knows I.. tried, been a witness to homicide
Seen drivebys takin lives, little kids die
Wonder why as I walk by
Broken-hearted as I glance at the chalk line, gettin high
This ain't the life for me, I wanna change
But ain't no future right for me, I'm stuck in the game
I'm trapped inside a maze
See this Tanqueray influenced me to gettin crazy
Disillusioned lately, I've been really wantin babies
so I could see a part of me that wasn't always shady"

#04 - Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

DOWNLOAD IT

Shaolin shadowboxing, and the Wu-Tang sword style. If what you say is true, the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang could be dangerous. Do you think your Wu-Tang sword can defeat me? En garde, I'll let you try my Wu-Tang style. Those words spoke by Manchu Prince from Shaolin and Wu-Tang are the first thing heard from the Wu (Minus Words from the Geunis and Prince Rakeem crap). Rap would never be the same. People looking for something new from New York rap after the country was only listening to gangsta rap from cali got exactly what they wanted and more.

Quotable: "I rip it hardcore, like porno-flick bitches
I roll with groups of ghetto bastards with biscuits
Check it, my method on the microphone's bangin
Wu-Tang slang'll leave your headpiece hangin
Bust this, I'm kickin like Segall, Out for Justice
The roughness, yes, the rudeness, ruckus
Redrum, I verbally assault with the tongue
Murder one, my style shot ya knot like a stun-gun"

#03 - Nas - Illmatic

DOWNLOAD IT

This is the album you would give to a young kid looking to get into rap. This is the album jigga talks about on all his albums until he got called out on it. This is the album that let people know that maybe theres someone out there more talented than Rakim. 10 tracks no famous features from dope producers from a young mc who spit fire bars.

Quotable: "I got so many rhymes I don't think I'm too sane
Life is parallel to Hell but I must maintain
and be prosperous, though we live dangerous
cops could just arrest me, blamin us, we're held like hostages
It's only right that I was born to use mics
and the stuff that I write, is even tougher than dice
I'm takin rappers to a new plateau, through rap slow
My rhymin is a vitamin, Hell without a capsule
The smooth criminal on beat breaks
Never put me in your box if your shit eats tapes"

#02 - Dr. Dre - The Chronic

DOWNLOAD IT

Back in 92 rap was either party music or about politics. Dre invented G-Funk and brought it his debut album. Free from Easy & Jerry Heller control Dre was able to do things his way. Which is making beats while Snoop spits on the mic.

Quotable: " Well I'm peepin', and I'm creepin', and I'm creep-in'. But I damn near got capped, 'cause my beeper kept beepin'. Now it's time for me to make my impression felt, So sit back, relax, and strap on your seatbelt. You never been on a ride like this before, With a producer who can rap and control the maestro At the same time with the dope rhyme that I kick. You know, and I know, I flow some old funky shit To add to my collection. The selection Symbolizes dope. Take a toke but don't choke. If you do, you have no clue
Of what me and my homie Snoop Dogg came to do..."

#01 - Raekwon the Chef - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...Niggas

BUY IT

Ok here's my review on THE BEST hip hop album ever constructed.

Striving For Perfection- What a great way to start an album. It's just Rae and Ghost speaking on what they wanna do when this albums done. "Im hanging this shit up if this don't work man." Well, it worked Ghostface.

Knuckleheads- I love the bassline. Rae comes with a great verse. Ghost and U-God come off with better verses though. It's just a great head nodding song.

Knowledge God- One of my favorite beats on the album. I love Rae's verses but the beat takes this with the violens and catch little piano.

Criminology- Oh my god first off the beat is crazy but Ghost and Rae came off so hard on this song. A lot of quotable in this song from both members. Beat fits perfect with their flow.

Incarcerated Scarfaces- I remember first hearing this beat and thinking it was the best I had ever heard. I don't think that anymore but this is still a classic song in its' own right. Chef'll shine like marble.

Rainy Dayz- Every once in a while you'll hear a beat and think "Wow that is production nirvana right there." This beat is like that. A flawless beat and (Blue Rasberry?) has stellar vocals. Rae and Ghost prove to me that they are some of the best lyricists around with 2 great verses.

Guillotine (Swordz)- The beat from Tical! Finally RZA quit messing with us and hit us up with this stellar beat. Rebel INS catches you right off the bat which he seems to like to do as he has done the same with several of his verses. Him and GZA start and end the song perfectly with Ghost dropping some abstract wordplay and Rae kicking his slang rap.

Can It Be All So Simple (Remix)-It's the original beat reverses, and with harder bass. Although the original may be better due to better lyrics, I still amazed at the duo of Ghost and Rae, they vibe perfect together.

Shark Biters- It's one of the best skits. Rae and Ghost talk about biters, talking about people biting their styles and Nas's shit.

Ice Water- A great sample by RZA. It's such a great beat but I love Ghost's and Cappadonnas verses. You can almost feel a change in sound after Shark Biters as there is more guest appearances from here on.

Glaciers of Ice- Another flawless beat by RZA. Best verses have to belong to Rae and Masta Killa though, with Masta coming off the best. Blue Rasberry made this song though, she should get the same amount of credit

Verbal Intercourse- One of the best sampled beats you'll ever hear. "If he....I really love him." How do you take something so profound like that and turn into one of the sickest beats made? RZA did it but even better than the beat is the 3 classic verses, right in a row, dropped by Nas, Rae, and Ghostface. This song is hip hop in its' purest form no questions asked.

Wisdom Body- A short solo Ghosface. He speech seems a little weird, as Ghost said he was probably drunk during a lot of the making of this album. I like the beat although it doesn't amount to the price that Glaciers of Ice and Verbal Intercourse was.

Spot Rusherz- The St. Ides commercial plays at the beginning while Ghost and Rae crack me up. "It's like the sun ain't even up. Well the sun will always shine though, but you know what I mean?" I like the beat alot although it is repetitive. Rae tells a nice story. All in all, it's a great track.

Ice Cream- It's a clever song, but the best verse is Ghostface with Cappadonna finishing out the song but I almost like Meth best for his chorus.

Wu-Gambinos- The Gambinos! Johnny Blaze, Tony Starks, Lex Diamonds, and Noodles and Bobby Steels one by one give out some of the best verses on the album. Another fantastic beat. There is no weak verse on here, they are all great but as for the best verse, I'm going to have to give it to Bobby Steels.

Heaven and Hell- One of my favorite beats and songs. Rae and Ghost do a little duet together, just vibing with the beat. It's just a classic song what can I say.

North Star- Another one of the best beats i've ever heard. When Rae comes and drops his verse, I seriously get goosebumps almost every time. The verse needed to be longer or have Ghost or something on it! This song should have been 8 minutes long with every member dropping a verse. Used to never listen to it because I only thought it was just Popa Wu talking.
