Sincerely Hogwash Does Vegas
This is only part one, as our feature interview with Sincerely Hogwash will be up tomorrow. In that piece, we will give the world a chance to meet these cats.
IT'S A LIFESTYLE: So how was Vegas in retrospect?
Sincerely Hogwash (Ryan): Man. Vegas was bananas! The tradeshow was crazy with tons of brands showing, and toward the end of the week the NBA All-Star crowd starting filtering in. Out of towners shut Vegas down.
IAL: Who had the best layout?
SH: For sure ALIFE did. They skipped the whole tradeshow madness and did a suite at the lavish venetian. It was pretty clean and chill.
SH: I was the most impressed with Manik, Swagger, Alife, garbege, oh and Girls Gone Wild had a sweet booth. They had a full sized open bar setup and a lounge area with jumbo shrimps, fresh fruits and crazy desserts. So of course we got a little fade on. That dude Joe is the definition of ballin!!!!
IAL: Who had the best freebies?
SH: GGW
IAL: Take us through a day in Vegas during the Magic Tradeshow.
SH: Wake up. Hustle down to the buffet. (when in Vegas the buffet joints are crucial) Arrive at the show. Parade the show floor. Peep all the different brands. Network with some heads you know, and hopefully some you don't. Have a few beers. Go ba ck to the hotel exhausted to talk about the trends and future of the industry. Sleep. Repeat.
SH: This is a great question. I like this one. Unfortunately, My IPod broke a few months back, and they cost a grip nowadays. I wasn't pumping anything in LV. I dont think Eric had anything on him either... We did catch the Little brother and Lupe show though. That was ill!
SH: I went to the newly opened UNDEFEATED while I was out there and copped the FRUITION X UNDFTD collab shirt and the "PLAY DIRTY" fitted. Shit is nice quality.
IAL: Shoutouts?
SH: Definitely wanna shoutout the ALIFE cats for showing us how it should be done and pollying with us for a minute. Gotta shoutout my fam MARCUS at Connoisseur 533 in San Jose, and I gotta put eric on blast once again for sleeping in the terminal and missing his flight [Laughs]. Classic.
Keep your eyes peeled for Part 2, coming soon!!

Scott Storch Wants Beef? Really?
Hip-hop is really loving beef right now for some reason, and it's looking like everyone is trying to capitalize. For a long time there have been rumblings between Timbaland and Scott Storch, and now it seems Storch made the first move in yet another meaningless beef.

New Nike Dunk High Samples
We spotted these over at The Shoe Game and had to post them before anyone else got a chance. One of my personal favorites of the samples set to drop this year, "this pair features a tweed upper and an orange swoosh with a brown/tan colorway."
"The other Dunk features a orange/grey colorway and the “hufquake” cracked midsole. This pair is similar to the purple/black Dunk High samples that were shown a few weeks back. With that said, I’m assuming Nike will release a “Cracked” midsole pack that will include Dunk Highs and maybe other models."

CNN Report: "Hip-hop: Art or Poison?" Tonight At 8pm
Shocking images and lyrics have America asking if hip-hop has gone too far. "Hip-hop: Art or Poison?" A Paula Zahn prime time special. Tune in Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
I'm going to be watching, and I suggest everyone on here who watches it email CNN with your views. There is going to be alot of bias and alot of "us vs. them", and hopefully they will air a few of the emails at least the next day concerning this report, as CNN always shows a few email responses to its stories. If we actually give our opinion we may see some of these emails defending our ART. At least, if we all email and they don't air any of the emails defending hip-hop, then we know that CNN is biased (though we already know it is) and from there the hip-hop community could lambaste CNN for its unreasonable views.
If anything, we may look at this and realize that we are only helping fuel the fire with the way hip-hop is going right now. In any respect, I feel we should take this seriously because they make it seem as if America is fed up with hip-hop, even though I will admit that hip-hop nowadays is a great target because it's really hard to defend, as today's artists love to wallow in their own ignorance.
With that said, I hope they bring Cam'ron on the show, then we may get another "You mad?" moment:

What's This Motherfuckin' Rap Game Without L?
Yo, that's like jewels without ice
That's like china without rice
or the Holy Bible without Christ
or the Bulls without Mike
or crackheads without pipes
The Village without dykes
or hockey games without fights...
-Lamont "Big L" Coleman
May 30, 1974 - February 15th, 1999
On this day, we lost one of the most prolific lyricists in the game. Big L died tragically as a result of mistaken identity, becoming one of the biggest cases of "What if?" in hip-hop history. Even today, eight years after his death, the skill and ability L exhibited in his work is light years ahead of many of our modern MC's. Not only did his death mark the end of a great talent, but it served as one of many signs that an entire era was coming to an end.
As a tribute to this great artist, we at It's A Lifestyle have decided to give you, our loyal viewers, his catalogue. Enjoy, and spread the wealth!

Frank 151’s Distro League New Eras.
Many followers of the streetwear scene are avid readers of Frank 151 magazine. It has become widely known as the go-to pocket book for everything undergound. Here is a new collaboration made between Frank 151 and New Era:Gillie Da Kid Arrested During Philly Drug Bust
Gillie Da Kid was one of six people arrested Tuesday night after Philadelphia police and FBI officers discovered nearly half a million dollars worth of marijuana.
According to the Philadelphia Daily News the arrests resulted in FBI Agents Garrett Kerley and Lynn Monahan visiting Levick Street in Oxford Circle to speak to residents about a December drug bust, which resulted in $6.1 million in crack cocaine being seized.
While canvassing the neighborhood the agents learned of suspicious activity at two homes on the 1100 block of Passmore Street. Capt. Chris Werner told the Daily News that the agents passed the information on to Sgt. Robert Friel and Officer Jeff Galaska from his division, Narcotics Field Unit 2 and officers set up a stakeout of the homes. After a man drove up and left one of the houses carrying boxes, Highway Patrol was contacted and pulled over the driver. Once the team obtained search warrants, they discovered 89 pounds of marijuana in the car and in the houses, valued at approximately $404,000.
"They were supplying numerous drug dealers all over the city, not just in the Northeast," Sgt. Robert Friel of Narcotics Field Unit 2 told the Daily News.
Officers arrested six people as they tried to leave the scene on Tuesday (February 8, 2007). Rapper Gillie Da Kid (Sar'd Nasir) was identified by police as the ringleader of the operation. Nasir formerly rapped with Philly group Major Figgas. Also arrested were Mark Jeffries, 41; Rhashima Brown, 34; Regina Little, 27; Garnell Brown, 25, and Izeem Ruffings, 25 - all of Philadelphia. Each was charged with conspiracy and possessing narcotics with intent to deliver.

Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff Sentenced To Death
Kenneth 'Supreme" McGriff was convicted Thursday in a federal death penalty case on charges he paid $50,000 to have two rivals gunned down in 2001.
The jury deliberated for five days before finding McGriff guilty of murder conspiracy and drug dealing. He was acquitted on drugs and weapons charges. McGriff is the founder of the lucrative and ruthless drug crew the 'Supreme Team' that became legendary on Queens streets that later produced rap stars such as Ja Rule and 50 cent.
The defense claimed that after spending some time in prison, McGriff went straight in the late 1990s and pursued his dream of producing movies and music by teaming with Irv 'Gotti' Lorenzo, a neighborhood friend who headed the successful Murder Inc. record label.
The same jury must now decide whether McGriff will die of lethal injection. Two days ago Ronell Wilson was sentenced to death in the same courthouse for the killings of two undercover police detectives. He was the first federal defendant to be sentenced to death in New York City since 1954.
