Flight Of The Conchords: HBO's (sort of) New Hit

New HBO show "Flight Of The Conchords" is one of the best comedies on TV right now. With it's subtle and irreverant humor and it's imaginative music videos, it is obvious that Bret and Jermaine came from New Zealand to America with a dream. A dream to create a show that makes you laugh, nod your head, and yell every line back at the screen.

The thing is, this dream was already realized ten years ago in 1997, when a then-unkown Jack Black and his partner Kyle Glass created the cult classic series "Tenacious D", based on the adventures of the comic-rock duo of the same name. Though a popular show among those who considered themselves funny, "Tenacious D" did not last long, as HBO execs did not want Black and Glass to be executive producers. This caused problems, leading to the show's demise in 2000 after only 6 episodes.

Though aware of this, and a full-on anti-biting proponent, I am forced to admit that I'm crazy for this show. Flight of the Conchords plain hilarious. Peep this scene from their first episode:
